Stacey Swerer, Training Leader: From the moment Stacey took her first yoga class, she knew she had found something she had been seeking without even knowing that she was searching for anything at all. Something shifted inside her from that very first class and her life was changed forever. In fact, it was so profound that Stacey really didn’t know how to respond…she just felt different from within. She felt relaxed, satisfied, happy and inspired by being uplifted from asana. Never looking back, her love for yoga introduced her to many different styles and traditions with roots in Hatha, Ashtanga, and ultimately Anusara Yoga. Anusara showed her the benefits and results from an alignment based practice that focuses on the technique and skill of postures that are powerful and effective. More importantly was the guidance into the space of the heart, an inner attitude revealing wholeness, radiance and vitality. As a Certified Anusara ® Yoga teacher with advanced training, Stacey’s classes are taught from over 20 years of deep study and the refinements of her own personal practice. Students can expect a slower style vinyasa with thoughtfully planned sequences leading to peak poses through the play of yoga.
Matt was introduced to yoga after the diagnosis of sciatica in his mid 20’s stemming from the pressures of a fast paced lifestyle on the Chicago Board of Trade. Leaving that world of chaos behind and heading to Colorado he found the healing properties of a consistent asana practice under the Anusara® yoga tradition. With over 10 years of practice Matt has been intimately studying the processes of yoga and integrates postures, philosophy, mythology and meditation into a well-rounded practice. The poetic nature of his practice is inspired by the teachings of Douglas Brooks from Rajanaka tantra, one of the world’s leading scholars of goddess centered tantra. Matt’s love for the many layers of yoga fuels his passion for creative writing that enables him to express his utmost gratitude for the vast abundance in life to savor the gift of embodiment and love life to the fullest.
