Weekend Workshop with Nicki Doane
Devotion to yoga and the desire to share with and give back to the world are what motivate the teaching of Maya Yoga with Nicki Doane.
Maya Yoga is the "unsystem" system of yoga. Maya means illusion in Sanskrit so it is never what you think it is! Nickin and Eddie have developed an approach to yoga that isintent on serving the individual student. Yoga is spirit in action. Yoga is spirit in action and when Nicki teaches, she inspires people to find a place of spirit inside themselves, recognizing the profound connection between the self and the spirit.
Nicki has been studying yoga in India for years and has been deeply influenced by the teachings of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and B.K.S. Iyengar. Her unique approach to vinyasa yoga strengthens all aspects of your being through dynamic structural alignment, conscious breathing, and practical yogic philosophy; helping students find the deeper life of yoga. Nicki strives to teach each student that yoga is about being fully present in the moment and discovering that we are truly all One. One Love. One People. One Heart. One Destination – Our Higher Self.
Yoga is spirit in action, and as Nicki teaches, she inspires people to find a place of spirit inside themselve, recognizing the profound connection between the self and spirit.

Class Descriptions
Hip Openers - Friday, March 12th / 5:30 - 8pm
Cultivate your seat of awareness and learn to sit comfortably for the rest of your life. Since yoga is all about creating and sustaining balance in our lives, this class is the perfect complement to a strong vinyasa yoga practice. This class will be more reflective in nature as we find our way into various postures, usually on the floor, but not limited to, and stay there to see what happens. In order to explore the more advanced poses that yoga has to offer, you have to open your hips. Come prepared to dive deep as we provide you with valuable information for your yoga practice to carry into the rest of your life.
Arm Balances - Saturday, March 13th / 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Learn to Stand on Your Own Two Hands The group of poses known as arm balances bring up all kinds of emotions for people. Fear, Insecurity, Frustration, Fear. Did we mention that one yet?! In this class we will work with these poses to look fear in the face. Learning how to go upside down can be a very empowering experience for everyone. We will work on handstands against the wall and in the middle of the room, depending on your level of comfort. In this class, anyone that wants to do a handstand, will! We will cover many arm balances, from the more simple “baby Balances” to the more advanced full arm balances. This class promises to be fun and an opportunity to conquer some fears and let them go!
Inversions - Saturday, March 13th / 3 - 5:30pm
In vinyasa yoga there is a strong emphasis on standing postures and flow. But when do we get to go upside down? Inversions are crucial for balancing your day and managing your life. They are rejuvenating, energizing and extremely therapeutic when practiced with awareness.
