Anatomy for Yoga: Low Back with Somer King
This workshop will cover basic anatomy and mechanics of the lower back, which will also include discussion of the thoracic spine, sacro-iliac joints & hips. Due to its complexity, it is not surprising that this structural "core" of the body is often injured, especially with faster forms of yoga. Through discussion and practical application, we will explore the conscious use of your core/lower back throughout your yoga practice to prevent injuries & dysfunctions. Common muscle imbalances, along with core & pelvic stabilization principles will be addressed. Learn to transform your weakness or injury into a learning experience and opportunity to grow your practice.
