We all know oxygen plays a vital role in the healthy function of our bodies, yet studies show the average person uses just 10% of his or her respiratory capacity. In this special workshop, we’ll look at the physiology of respiration, including how breathing directly influences our energy, our health, and our minds. We’ll explore the Yogic breathing practices or pranayama, the science behind them, and simple techniques you can use for better vitality, cognitive function, and stress management.
Topics will include:
- The Physiology & Psychology of Breath: Learn the mechanics of full respiration, including how it contributes to general health and balanced function of the nervous system
- Understanding Programmed Breathing & How to Change Patterns: Discover why we restrict our breathing and simple tools you can use to change this
- Respiration for Concentration & Peak Performance: Learn proven techniques for greater mental clarity as well as how breath-work can radically enhance your strength and stamina
All levels welcome, including those entirely new to yoga. Workshop fee is $20 in advance, $25 the day of the workshop.
