Practice will combine pranayama (breath-work), yin yoga, yoga nidra, and chanting.
Yin yoga is a slower paced, reflective practice where postures are held for 3-5 minutes. In this class you will use your partner as a prop in addition to blankets, bolsters, and blocks to support the body as much as possible in order to soften into sensation. A longer practice will allow us to dive deeper into a well rounded, full body yin sequence followed by Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra means “yogic sleep”. It is a state of conscious deep sleep, past dreaming, where one is still awake and allowing thoughts, emotions, and sensation to arise and pass. While we may practice yoga asana (postures) and sleep, this special practice allows for intentional, full relaxation.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend this class, no experience is needed! Attune to the heart, body, and mind in this rich Yin & Yoga Nidra evening!
We will be in the upstairs space, enter on Jefferson street in the door that leads directly to the stairs.
