Beth started a Vinyasa practice when she was 16 and eventually started to teach friends who were drawn to her yoga. In 2017, she saw rapid improvements to her asana when she started studying in the Iyengar tradition. Certified to teach in 2019 after 11 years of practice, her classes now utilize an alignment based style that sequences postures to safely and effectively advance her students’ practices. Her classes center the respectful use of Sanskrit and the consistent use of Ujjayi pranayama. Beth aims to minimize the appropriation of yoga by incorporating more than just asana in her yoga practice, learning about the roots and wisdom of yoga, and being respectful of iconography such as deities and the sacred sound of Om.
